Basilio Marin - who sadly has passed away, was one of the
very first to work in the diving business on Bonaire. A gentle
giant, this man was a remarkable diver and a very kind person.
He exemplified the quiet and peaceful life of Bonaire. |
 |
Ebo Domacasse - another man who was among the very few
first divers on Bonaire. More than one vacationing diver remarked
that they never saw him swimming (even though they were working
hard) but he would always just be hovering close by, as calm
as any fish in the water. Ebo has been retired from diving for
quite some time now but he will always be remembered. |
 |
Don Stewart - without question the father of diving on
Bonaire. Don was also the inspiration behind Bonaire National
Marine Park with many conservation ideas decades ahead of the
rest of the world. |
 |
Eddie Statia - when Shark's Treasure, a Hollywood film,
was being made on Bonaire, Eddie took the job as a helper. Since
most of the work took place at the then only dive shop of Aquaventure,
he saw lots of diving and never looked back. Eddie is still in
the industry since 1975. |
